Principal Purpose
JIMTEF aims to encourage the development of medical technology in Japan and overseas, especially in developing countries, to deepen mutual understanding in various areas of medical technology from a global perspective and to promote international cooperation, thereby contributing to the enhancement of international medical cooperation and improvement of the welfare of mankind.
(1) Training of experts from overseas in medical technology
(2) Overseas dispatch of Japanese experts in medical technology and related areas
(3) International cooperation with medical care-related organizations in Japan and overseas
(4) Research and promotion of medical technologies in Japan and overseas
(5) Disaster medical care
(6) Other activities necessary to achieve the objective of the association
Awards Received
- JIMTEF was awarded the 52nd Public Health Award in October 2000 for its achievements in international medical cooperation. Established in 1949, the Public Health Award is one of the most prestigious in public health care in Japan, and has one of the longest traditions in the field. The award is sponsored by the Dai-Ichi Life Insurance Co., Ltd. and is supported by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the NHK Public Welfare Organization and the Asahi Shimbun Social Welfare Organization.
- JIMTEF was awarded the Health, Labour and Welfare Minister's Commendation in October 2000.
- JIMTEF was awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation in July 2009.
